China's NEV retail penetration stood at 53.41 percent in the September 1-22 period, and 45.36 percent year-to-date.
China's new energy vehicle (NEV) sales fell last week, dragging down the month-to-date performance.
For the September 1-22 period, retail sales of passenger NEVs in China stood at 664,000 units, up 47 percent from a year ago and up 7 percent from a month ago, data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed.
In the September 1-15 period, the retail sales were 445,000 units, up 63 percent from the same period last year and up 12 percent from the same period last month. This means that in the week of September 16-22, the retail sales of NEVs became weaker.
So far this year, cumulative retail sales of China's passenger NEVs totaled 6.67 million units, up 36 percent from a year earlier.
Wholesale sales of China's passenger NEVs were 698,000 units in September 1-22, up 33 percent from a year earlier and up 22 percent from a month earlier, according to the CPCA.
So far this year, the cumulative wholesale sales of China's passenger NEVs amounted to 7.38 million units, up 32 percent from a year earlier.
From September 1-22, China's retail sales of all passenger vehicles were 1.24 million units, up 10 percent compared with the same period last year and up 10 percent from the same period last month.
Year to date, cumulative retail sales of all passenger vehicles in China totaled 14.71 million units, up 3 percent year-on-year.
This means that China's NEV penetration at retail was 53.41 percent from September 1-22 and 45.36 percent year-to-date.
In the first week of September -- September 1-8 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 48,475, up 10 percent year-on-year and up 5 percent from the same period last month.
In the second week of September -- September 9-15, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 62,881, up 26 percent year-on-year and up 18 percent from the same period last month.
In the third week of September -- September 16-22, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 59,321, down 3 percent year-on-year but up 6 percent from the same period last month.
For September 1-22, China's wholesale sales of all passenger cars were 1,373,000 units, up 5 percent year-on-year and up 31 percent from the same period last month.
During September 1-8, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 46,248, up 1 percent year-on-year and up 41 percent from the same period last month.
During September 9-15, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 71,136, up 17 percent year-on-year and up 49 percent from the same period last month.
From September 16-22, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 72,190, down 2 percent year-on-year, but up 12 percent from the same period last month.
Cumulative year-to-date wholesale sales of passenger cars in China totaled 17.31 million units, up 4 percent year-on-year.
