Deliveries of Nio's (NYSE: NIO) updated ET7 will begin on the last day of this month, with the sedan set to go on sale on April 25, the first day of the Beijing auto show.
Reservations for the 2024 ET7 began today, and customers who pay RMB 5,000 ($690) to pre-order the model before its official launch will receive RMB 3,000 worth of Nio Credits, the electric vehicle (EV) maker said in a post published today on its mobile app.
Nio will officially launch the 2024 ET7 on April 25, when its specifications and pricing will be announced, and will allow customers to lock in their orders.
The reservation entitlement will expire on April 25 and Nio will deliver the 2024 ET7 from April 30 onwards as per the order lock-in, according to the company.
Show cars of the updated ET7 are being shipped to Nio's showrooms in China, and test drives of the model will be available on April 25.
Nio is using a 2024 ET7 equipped with a production version of the 150-kWh semi-solid-state battery pack for a range challenge that is streamed live on its app, with the goal of achieving 1,100 kilometers of range on a single charge.
On December 18, 2023, William Li, Nio's founder, chairman, and CEO, drove a 2023 ET7 with a 150-kWh semi-solid-state battery in a range challenge, with 36 kilometers of CLTC remaining after 1,044 kilometers of driving.
The ET7 is the last of Nio's 2023 models to get the update, and the company began accepting customer orders on February 22 for seven other models -- the 2024 ES8, ES7, EC7, ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5 Touring.
Unlike the other seven models, which primarily upgraded the cockpit chip from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 to the Snapdragon 8295, the 2024 ET7 seems to bring a bigger upgrade.
Nio shared several images of the 2024 ET7 yesterday, showing that the updated version keeps the same look as the 2023 model, but with major tweaks to the interior, including the availability of two large screens in the rear.
The upcoming Beijing auto show will be held from April 25-May 4, with media days from April 25-26 and public days from April 27-May 4.
Nio, whose booth is located at E207 in the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi), said yesterday that it will showcase eight 2024 models at the show.
