For the week of March 4-10, (NYSE: NIO) had 2,000 vehicle insurance registrations in China, down 44.44 percent from 3,600 in the previous week, according to figures shared today by its local counterpart (NASDAQ: LI).

Li Auto has routinely shared these numbers on Tuesday afternoons since May 2023.

Nio delivered 8,132 vehicles in February, down 33.11 percent year-on-year and down 19.12 percent from January, according to figures it announced on March 1.

Nio guided first quarter vehicle deliveries to be in the range of 31,000 to 33,000 when it announced its fourth quarter 2023 financial results on March 5.

Considering it delivered 10,055 vehicles in January and 8,132 in February, the guidance means it expects to deliver between 12,813 and 14,813 vehicles in March.

On February 22, Nio began accepting customer orders for seven refreshed models, the 2024 ES8, ES7, EC7, ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5 Touring, at the same prices.

Deliveries of the 2024 ES8, EC7, ES6, EC6, ET6, ET5 Touring began on March 8 in several cities in China.

Deliveries of the updated ET5 will begin in April and the ES7 in May, according to information previously announced by the company.

(NYSE: XPEV) had 1,800 insurance registrations last week, down 25 percent from 2,400 the week before.

Xpeng delivered 4,545 vehicles in February, a decrease of 24.38 percent year-on-year and down 44.91 percent from January.

Xpeng will release its unaudited fourth-quarter and fiscal 2023 reports before the US markets open on Tuesday, March 19, when it is expected to provide guidance on first-quarter deliveries.

Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) had 9,300 insurance registrations last week, ahead of -backed Aito's 8,500 and up 50 percent from 6,200 the week before.

Li Auto delivered 20,251 vehicles in February, up 21.85 percent from a year earlier but down 35 percent from January.

Li Auto said on March 1 that it aims to rebound to 50,000 monthly deliveries in March.

Li Auto reported strong fourth-quarter earnings on February 26 and guided for first-quarter deliveries to be between 100,000 and 103,000 units.

Li Auto launched the Li Mega MPV, its first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, on March 1 and deliveries begun on March 11. The company's other three models -- Li L7, Li L8 and Li L9 -- are extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).

(NASDAQ: TSLA) had 13,200 insurance registrations in China last week, up 5.6 percent from 12,500 the week before.

Tesla sold 60,365 China-made vehicles in February, including 30,141 sold in China and 30,224 exported from its Shanghai plant, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Tesla's retail sales in China in February were down 11.15 percent year-on-year and down 24.42 percent from January.

In the January-February period, Tesla's retail sales in China were 70,022 units, up 15.23 percent year-on-year.

Tesla has a factory in Shanghai that produces the Model 3 and Model Y, and not only delivers to local consumers, but is also an export hub for the company.

BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) had 49,100 insurance registrations in China last week, up 27.53 percent from 38,500 the week before.

BYD sold 122,311 NEVs in February, down 36.84 percent year-on-year and down 39.30 percent from January, according to its March 1 Hong Kong Stock Exchange announcement.

On February 19, the second working day after the Chinese New Year holiday, BYD rolled out lower-priced Glory Editions for the Qin Plus and the Chaser 05, marking the launch of its latest round of major model updates.

To date, BYD has also updated the Dolphin, Han, Tang, Song Plus, Seal DM-i, Song Pro DM-i, Yuan Plus, and Seagull, all of which have seen price drops.

BYD's premium brand Denza was at 1,100 units last week, unchanged from the previous week.

Zeekr was at 1,900 units last week, down 40.63 percent from 3,200 the week before.

Leapmotor was at 2,500 units last week, up 66.67 percent from 1,500 units the week before.
