The ET5 Touring contributed 21.12 percent of 's deliveries in August with 4,083 units. The regular ET5 contributed 14.91 percent with 2,882 units.

Nio (NYSE: NIO) reported deliveries of 19,329 vehicles in August earlier this month, but didn't provide model-specific breakdown figures. Now, those numbers are available, with the ES6 continuing to be a major contributor.

The ES6 delivered 8,601 units in August, up 90.84 percent from 4,507 a year ago but down 22.64 percent from 11,118 in July, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) shared by local automotive media outlet Dongchedi.

The SUV contributed 44.5 percent of Nio deliveries in August, down from 54.33 percent in July, CnEVPost's calculations showed.

In the January-August period, the ES6 delivered 30,159 units, down 8.27 percent year-on-year.

Nio launched the first-generation ES6, based on the NT 1.0 platform, at its Nio Day 2018 event on December 15, 2018, which was the EV firm's second production vehicle after the ES8 and quickly became its main seller.

On May 24, 2023, Nio launched the new ES6, based on the NT 2.0 platform, and began deliveries on launch night.

The ES6 has always been Nio's least expensive SUV, currently starting at RMB 338,000 ($46,020) in China.

Prior to the launch of the new ES6, the model's contribution to Nio's deliveries fell to 2.61 percent in April. After that, the ES6's contribution moved up quickly with delivery growth and reached 54.33 percent in July.

The ET5 Touring delivered 4,083 units in August, up 11.5 percent from 3,662 units in July. The model contributed 21.12 percent of Nio's deliveries in August, up from 17.9 percent in July.

The ET5 Touring was launched in China on June 15 and deliveries began on June 16.

Pricing for the model is exactly the same as the regular ET5, starting at RMB 298,000 for the version with a 75-kWh battery pack and RMB 356,000 for the 100-kWh version, including the battery.

Between June and August, 9,084 units of the ET5 Touring were delivered.

Nio announced in August that it was rebranding the ET5 Touring as the ET5T in China, in an effort to de-emphasize the model's attributes as a wagon variant of the ET5 and target the larger family market.

The regular ET5 delivered 2,882 units in August, up 23.32 percent from 2,337 units in July, and contributed 14.91 percent of Nio's monthly deliveries.

In January-August, the ET5 delivered 33,918 units.

Launched Nio Day 2021 in December 2021, the ET5 is Nio's second sedan after the ET7, with first deliveries commencing on September 30, 2022. The model's record-high monthly delivery was 7,594 units last December.

Nio's flagship SUV, the ES8, delivered 2,369 units in August, up 52.64 percent from 1,552 in the same month last year and up 23.58 percent from 1,917 in July.

The ES8 contributed 12.26 percent of Nio deliveries in August. The model delivered 6,506 units from January to August, down 40.79 percent year-on-year.

Nio launched the ES8, its first production vehicle, on December 16, 2017, at its first Nio Day event.

The company rolled out an upgraded version of the ES8 at Nio Day 2019 on December 28, 2019, though still based on the NT 1.0 platform.

Nio launched the new ES8 based on the NT 2.0 platform at Nio Day 2022 on December 24, 2022, with deliveries starting on June 28.

The EC7 delivered 492 units in August, basically flat from 493 units in July. The coupe SUV delivered 2,507 units from January through August.

The EC7 was launched along with the new ES8 on Nio Day 2022, December 24, 2022, and was first delivered on April 28 this year.

Nio also has the EC6, a coupe SUV based on the older NT 1.0 platform, which is the company's only remaining model that has yet to be updated to the NT 2.0 platform.

The ET7 delivered 349 units in August, down 88.84 percent from 3,126 in the same month last year and 12.09 percent from 397 in July.

In the January-August period, the ET7 delivered 4,347 units, which is 65.25 percent lower than the same period last year.

The ET7, Nio's flagship sedan, was initially launched on January 9, 2021 at the Nio Day 2020 event, with deliveries commencing on March 28, 2022.

On the first day of the Shanghai auto show on April 18, Nio unveiled the ET7 for the 2023 model year, with deliveries beginning in mid-May.

The ES7 delivered 325 units in August, down 18.34 percent from 398 units in the same month last year and down 37.50 percent from 520 units in July.

The EC6 delivered 228 units in August, and Nio is expected to release the new EC6 based on the NT 2.0 platform on September 15.
