The Song and Han family models continue to contribute the most sales to BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY), the latest figures show.

The Song family sold 70,079 units in December, up 213.05 percent year-on-year and up 9.25 percent from 64,145 units in November, the company's breakdown of the different models announced yesterday showed.

For the full year 2022, the Song family sold 478,120 units.

The model is not only BYD's top-selling, but also the best-selling SUV in China for multiple months in 2022.

Song family models sold 63,636 units at retail in China in November, ranking No. 1 in all SUV sales, according to a list published last month by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

The Model Y was the second-best seller in November, with 52,424 retail sales in China, and that list for December is expected to be known in a few days.

The BYD Han family sold 30,043 units in December, up 119.28 percent year-on-year, but down 5.48 percent from 31,786 units in November. A total of 274,015 units of the model were sold in 2022.

The BYD Yuan family sold 29,468 units in December, up 243.57 percent year-on-year and essentially unchanged from November's 29,402 units. The model sold 229,020 units in 2022.

The BYD Dolphin sold 26,074 units in December, up 160.32 percent year-on-year and essentially unchanged from 26,063 units in November.

The BYD Qin family sold 26,206 units in December, up 1.01 percent year-on-year but 7.46 percent lower than in November.

The BYD Tang family sold 20,165 units in December, up 124.06 percent year-on-year and essentially unchanged from 20,020 units in November.

BYD Seal sales in December were 15,378 units, essentially unchanged from 15,356 units in November.

The BYD Destroyer 05 sold 6,107 units in December, up 1.24 percent from November.

Sales of the BYD Frigate 07, which went on sale on December 9, 2022, were 1,805 units in December.

BYD announced yesterday that it sold 235,197 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in December, a new all-time high and the fourth consecutive month in which it exceeded 200,000 units.

For the full year of 2022, BYD's cumulative NEV sales were 1,863,494 units, up 208.64 percent from 603,783 units in the same period last year.

BYD's 2022 sales of pure electric passenger vehicles were 911,140 units, up 184.01 percent from 320,810 units in the same period last year. They account for 48.9 percent of all BYD's NEV sales in 2022.
