Li Auto's new SUV, the Li L8, has entered a draft regulatory catalog, ahead of the model's official launch in November.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) today released the latest batch of draft list of new models that will be allowed to be sold in China for public comment, and the Li L8 is included.

The public can provide feedback, if they have it, between September 10 and 19. A final version will be released after the end of the comment period.

The Li L8 page shows that the model looks essentially the same as the Li L9, which began deliveries on August 30, except that the position for hanging license plates at the rear of the car is at a much lower place.

The Li L8 has a length, width and height of 5,080 mm, 1,995 mm and 1,800 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,005 mm, according to the information.

For comparison, the Li L9 is 5,218 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width and 1,800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. The Li ONE is 5,030 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,935 mm.

The Li L8 EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) has a top speed of 180 km/h, uses a range extender produced by Li Auto's joint venture Li Auto Xinchen Technologies and has a displacement of 1,496 ml and 113 kW of power.

The battery is supplied by CATL and its capacity is unknown at this time. The model will be available in both LiDAR-equipped and non-LiDAR-equipped versions.

It is worth noting that only one model is in the catalog, a six-seater, and Li Auto has previously mentioned that the Li L8 will be available in a five-seater as well as a six-seater.

Li Auto announced on September 1 that it will launch the new SUV Li L8 in early November and deliveries will begin that month.

The company's founder, chairman and CEO Li Xiang also mentioned in a Weibo exchange with users last month that for consumers currently waiting for the Li L8, they could not buy the Li ONE at this stage.
