With the launch of the new variants, BYD's flagship sedan Han family is expected to see greater sales.
Two new variants of the Han DM - Han DM-i, Han DM-p - received 12,098 orders in 10 hours after opening for pre-sale, BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY, HKG: 1211) said on Saturday evening.
BYD announced on Saturday that the two variants of the Han are available for pre-order with a price range of RMB 216,800 (34,080) - 322,800 yuan.
The BYD Han was launched in July 2020, when an all-electric version, the Han EV, and a plug-in hybrid model, the Han DM, were offered.
With the Han DM-i and Han DM-p available, the Han family grows to four models.
The Han DM-i focuses on fuel economy with four versions available, three of which have an all-electric range of 121 kilometers and one of 242 kilometers. The model's pre-sale price range after subsidies is RMB 216,800 - 292,800.
The Han DM-p is characterized by strong performance, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.7 seconds. It is available in one version only, with an electric-only range of 202 km and a pre-sale price of RMB 322,800.
The Han family sold 117,665 units for the full year 2021, according to data previously announced by BYD.
The flagship sedan sold 9,290 units in February, up 84.8 percent from 5,028 units a year ago but down 27.3 percent from 12,780 units in January.
