The Power North plan is Nio's initiative to improve the electric vehicle experience for customers in northern China, announced at the Shanghai auto show in late April. Now, Nio has made the latest progress under the plan.
The company announced Thursday that it put five charging stations into operation in Inner Mongolia in northern China on July 15, the latest addition to the company's replenishment resources after the first second-generation battery swap station went into operation there on June 28.
The five charging stations include one supercharging station and four destination charging stations.
The supercharging station is located at Nio's after-sales service center in Hohhot and has a 150KW charging gun power.
The destination charging stations are located in Hohhot, Ordos and Ulanqab, with 20KW charging guns.

So far, Inner Mongolia has a total of 2 Nio battery swap stations, 2 supercharging stations and 5 destination charging stations.
On April 19, the first day of the Shanghai auto show, Nio unveiled its Power North plan to enhance the electric vehicle replenishment experience for customers in eight northern provinces of China.
The company said it plans to have 100 battery swap stations, 120 mobile charging vehicles, 500 supercharging stations, over 2,000 supercharging piles and over 10,000 destination charging piles in the eight provinces within the next three years.
Nio said at the time that it wanted to enhance the replenishment experience for electric vehicle users in these areas by deploying charging infrastructure, including battery swap stations, supercharging stations, destination charging stations, mobile charging vehicles, and using third-party facilities.
On May 9, Nio's first facility with both a second-generation battery swap station and a charging station went live in the Xinjiang in northwest China, marking the official implementation of the program.
On July 1, Nio said that from July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2024, all Nio vehicles in eight regions in northern China will be entitled to 1,000 degrees of free charging credit using Nio-branded public charging piles.
If the usage exceeds 1,000 degrees, the service fee can be waived for the excess, the company said.
To date, Nio has 310 battery swap stations, 212 supercharger stations, 392 destination charging stations, and access to 380,000 third-party charging posts in China.
