Arcfox, the electric car brand of Chinese automaker BAIC Group, is aiming to deliver 1,000 units of Arcfox α-S with 'Huawei Inside' this year, but said it is challenging.

Arcfox vice president Wang Qiufeng said in a recent exchange with the media that Arcfox with "Huawei Inside" has more than 1,000 units on order and that it will definitely not be able to deliver all of them this year.

"I'm happy that the orders continue to grow, and I'm stressed that the existing orders will definitely not be delivered this year," Wang said.

She said she hopes to have some control over both the user experience and the pace of delivery.

Arcfox α-S with 'Huawei Inside', jointly developed by Arcfox and Huawei, features a LiDAR intelligent driving system and is the world's first mass-produced model equipped with three LiDAR intelligent driving solutions.

The model is equipped with an intelligent high level autonomous driving system with 400TOPs of algorithm power. This allows the model to support unprotected intersection turns, U-Turns, crosswalks, merging and congestion, making it more suitable for urban roads in China.

The car also features the HarmonyOS in-car system and a large 21.69-inch 4K entertainment screen inside the car.

In addition, the car has a range of 708km, supplemented by 800V charging technology, which is claimed to charge up to 197km of range in 10 minutes.

The Arcfox α-S with 'Huawei Inside' is priced at RMB 388,900 ($60,117) for the base version and RMB 429,900 for the premium version.

A month ago, Wang said orders for this model had already exceeded 1,000 units.
