Chinese electric car company 's new Li ONE, which will be released next week, will be equipped with the Journey 3 chip, the latest chip from local chip company Horizon Robotics.

A poster posted by Li Auto on its WeChat account on Thursday showed this information. The company will hold its spring 2021 launch event on May 25 at 20:00 Beijing Time, when it is expected to unveil the upgraded Li ONE.

Li Auto previously said that the launch will be held at Li Auto's Beijing R&D headquarters and that the theme will be "How to build a smart electric car that makes a family happier.

Horizon released the Journey 3, a 16nm in-car AI chip based on Horizon's BPU2.0 architecture, in September 2020.

With 5 TOPS of AI computing power and typical power consumption of 2.5W, Journey 3 supports application scenarios including high-level assisted driving, intelligent cockpit, automatic parking assistance, high-level autonomous driving, and crowdsourced high precision map positioning.

Last month, CnEVPost reported that Li Auto will launch deep cooperation with Horizon, using the latter's full range of Journey chips to build a sustainable evolution of smart cars.

At the Shanghai auto show at the end of April, a Li ONE Baby Blue appeared at the Horizon Robotics booth.

This is the newest addition to China's new car-making forces in terms of smart combinations, following 's partnership with Mobileye and Motors' partnership with Nvidia.

Previously Li Auto and Horizon Robotics had announced a partnership at CES ASIA 2019.

Horizon Robotics equipped the Li ONE with "in-car multi-zone interaction technology", which supports up to four channels of human voice separation and six channels of zone detection.

This technology enables multiple pickups, human voice localization, noise reduction, echo cancellation, and voice wake-up with up to 95% accuracy in sound source localization.

Li ONE is also equipped with Horizon Robotics' in-car intelligent interaction system, which supports more than 30 wake-free command words.

The Li ONE, released in October 2018 and with deliveries beginning in the fourth quarter of 2019, is the only model of Li Auto is currently available.

Li Auto's upcoming release of the upgraded Li ONE is a slight facelift with optimized upgrades to the exterior, interior, and features, and potentially more than 60 new and improved features.

Following these upgrades, the price of the Li ONE will likely be adjusted from RMB 32.8 million to RMB 350,000 ($54,400) - 360,000.

According to the previously released declaration drawings of the Li Auto, there are no major changes to the exterior design of the new car, with more options for the body color and four-wheel styles.
