Li ONE has accumulated sales of 33,457 units in 2020, the first full year for the model's delivery, surpassing the NIO ES6, WM Motor EX5, and BYD Tang DM to become the top-selling new energy SUV, according to a new report.
In December 2020, Li ONE sold 6,621 units, surpassing BYD Tang DM and NIO ES6 to become the No. 1 new energy SUV sales in China for 4 consecutive months, the data from Beijing CATARC Data Technology Center shows.
In the mid-size SUV segment, which includes fuel vehicles, Li ONE outsold the Lexus RX, BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class in December, ranking second in mid-size SUV sales behind VW's Teramont.
Li Auto previously announced data showing that Li ONE deliveries in December were 6,126 units, up 31.9 percent from the previous month. This figure was a record monthly delivery and exceeded market expectations.
Li Auto delivered 14,464 units in the fourth quarter, up 67.0 percent from the third quarter. A total of 33,597 units have been delivered since the launch of Li ONE, including 32,624 units for the full year 2020.
CICC, a top Chinese investment bank, said last week that it is optimistic that Li Auto sales will continue to trend upward quarter by quarter in 2021, with full-year sales expected to reach 80,000 units.
As it expands its sales network and upgrades its products, Li Auto's products will reach more customers, unlock sales and remain highly competitive among the household segment, CICC said.
Looking at December sales, Li ONE is expected to further consolidate its position in the top tier of the segment, and the strategic correctness of its track selection continues to be proven, CICC said.
