Polestar 3

Polestar has begun production of the Polestar 3 at its plant in Ridgeville, South Carolina, marking the first time the EV maker has produced on American soil.

Production of the Polestar 3 has begun in Chengdu, China, with additional production expected to begin in the US in mid-2024, Polestar said.

Polestar has officially unveiled the Polestar 3 in China today with what it calls a new pricing system.

The Polestar 3 costs twice as much in China as the Nio ES7 and about the same as the Porsche Taycan.

All versions of the Polestar 3 will be equipped with a rear-biased dual-motor powertrain, with electric torque vectoring via a dual-clutch system for the rear motor.

Polestar is an independent high-performance luxury electric brand owned by Volvo and jointly owned by Geely Automobile. Currently, Polestar has launched two models, namely the high-performance plug-in hybrid GT coupe Polestar 1, the medium-sized pure electric car Polestar 2.
