Nio ES6

Nio president Qin Lihong delivered the first batch of new ES6 Milestone Edition vehicles to customers.

The Nio ES6 Milestone Edition starts at RMB 349,800 ($49,240), which is RMB 11,800 or 3.49 percent higher than the standard ES6.

The 300,000th ES6 delivery is expected to be achieved later this month.

This implies the ES6 is on track for average monthly deliveries of about 5,000 units in October and November, up from 2,930 units in September.

This reality has prompted Nio management to rethink the need for a more thorough understanding of customer needs.

Nio has begun deliveries of the updated ES6 and EC6 in China as planned, after launching them last Friday.

Nio showcased the Nio ES6, Onvo L60 and Firefly at a police equipment expo in Beijing last week.

Thanks to the launch of the facelifted ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5 Touring, Nio guided May deliveries to be flat month-on-month, according to Deutsche Bank.

The updated ES6 and EC6 come with many feature upgrades and a switch to Nio's in-house developed Shenji smart driving chip.

The launch event for the facelifted Nio ES6 and EC6 will be held online only, partly to save costs.
