Chinese city Zhuhai reportedly invests $300 million in Faraday Future

Chinese state-owned capital from the city of Zhuhai has invested RMB 2 billion($300 million) in Faraday Future's (FF) latest funding round, Sina Tech reported Wednesday, adding that the investors could also bring policy support to the company.

This is one of the largest equity financings in China's new energy vehicle industry. It's trading at an 8 percent discount to the average closing price over the previous five trading days, with each investor voluntarily locking in for 12 months, the company said.

The amount was raised because of the exercise in full by the initial purchasers in their option to purchase up to an additional $100 million in the 2026 notes and $100 million in the 2027 notes.
