Xpeng is offering three options for the 2025 G6, starting at RMB 176,800 ($24,400), RMB 186,800, and RMB 198,800, respectively.

The previously on-sale G6 mid-size SUV has six options with a starting price range of RMB 199,900 to RMB 276,900.

This means that the 2025 G6's starting price is RMB 23,100, or 11.56 percent, lower than its predecessor.

Shortly after the model's launch, Xpeng announced on Weibo that the 2025 G6 received more than 5,000 firm orders in the first seven minutes of availability.

The Xpeng G6 was initially launched in China on June 29, 2023, and the SUV was at the time instrumental in the company's efforts to turn around weak sales from the previous year.

The 2025 G6 measures 4,758 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm. This is slightly longer than its predecessor's 4,753 mm length.

It's based on an 800-volt high-voltage platform, and comes standard with battery packs that support 5C charging. C being the charging multiplier, and 5C theoretically meaning the battery pack can be fully charged in one-fifth of an hour.

The updated G6 can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 12 minutes, Xpeng said.

The G6 previously on sale supports a 3C charging multiplier and can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in as little as 20 minutes.

The model's two lower-priced variants have a CLTC range of 625 kilometers and the highest-priced variant has 725 kilometers.

Xpeng did not mention the battery pack capacity of the updated G6 at the launch event, and the model's specification sheet does not display that information.

According to a catalog released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on December 30 last year, the battery pack capacity for the 625 km variant is 68.5 kWh and for the 725 km variant is 80.8 kWh.

All three variants of the 2025 G6 are single-motor rear-wheel-drive models with 218 kW of peak motor power and 450 Nm of peak torque.

Its two less expensive variants can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.4 seconds and the highest priced variant is 6.3 seconds.

The 2025 G9 is also available in three variants starting at RMB 248,800, RMB 258,800 and RMB 278,800 respectively.

The previously on-sale 2024 G9 came in six variants with a starting price range of RMB 263,900 to RMB 359,900.

This means that the starting price of the 2025 G9 has been reduced by RMB 15,100, or 5.72 percent.

The updated G9 measures 4,891 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,998 mm, the same as its predecessor.

Like the 2025 G6, the facelifted G9 is also based on a 800-volt high-voltage platform and supports 5C ultra-fast charging, which can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in as little as 12 minutes.

The 2024 G9 supports 3C charging multipliers and can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in as little as 20 minutes.

The updated G9 comes with dual-chamber air suspension as standard, while the 2024 G9 uses air suspension only in the highest-priced variant.

The 2025 G9 is offered in two single-motor rear-wheel-drive variants as well as a dual-motor four-wheel-drive variant with CLTC ranges of 625 kilometers, 725 kilometers, and 680 kilometers respectively.

The battery pack capacities for these three variants are 79 kWh, 93.1 kWh, and 93.1 kWh, respectively, according to the MIIT regulatory catalog.

Both single-motor variants have 258 kW of peak motor power and 465 Nm of peak torque, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.6 seconds or 6.4 seconds.

The dual-motor four-wheel drive version has a peak motor power of 423 kW and peak torque of 695 Nm and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.

The updated G6 and G9 come standard with the free Turing AI smart driving System, and the hardware includes 2 Nvidia Drive Orin chips with a total computing power of 508 TOPS.

As with the P7+ sedan launched last year, Xpeng has removed LiDAR from the updated G6 and G9, with the smart driving system shifting to a pure vision solution.

The 2025 G9 received more than 3,000 firm orders 45 minutes after launch, Xpeng said after the event.

The G6 and G9 updates are expected to push Xpeng's already strong sales growth even further.

The G6 delivered 54,463 units in 2024, contributing 28.65 percent of Xpeng's 190,068 deliveries for the year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

The G9 delivered 26,954 units in 2024, contributing 14.18 percent.

Early last month, Xpeng chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said the company was confident it would see deliveries double this year from 2024.

In the January-February period, Xpeng delivered 60,803 vehicles, up 375.21 percent from 12,795 in the same period last year, supported mainly by the new Mona M03 and P7+.
