The sports car was originally a production version of Fang Cheng Bao's Super 9 concept, but has later been assigned under the Denza brand, according to local media.

BYD sub-brand Denza is targeting sales of more than 300,000 units in 2025, implying a 138 percent growth, according to a local media report.

The N9 SUV will be launched in the first quarter, and Denza will also launch a new MPV in 2025 that will be bigger and more powerful than the D9 MPV currently on sale, an executive said.

The 2025 D9 starts at the same RMB 339,800 ($46,560) price as the 2024 model launched in March, but with upgraded features.

BYD was founded in February 1995 with an initial workforce of around 20 employees. Now it has become one of China's largest automakers, with a total workforce of more than 900,000.

The Denza Z9 is available in PHEV and BEV variants, and its tri-motor powertrain allows the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds.

Denza said it has completed five showrooms in key areas of Thailand and will reach 10 sales outlets within the year.

Denza will officially launch the Z9 on November 15, the first day of the 2024 Guangzhou auto show, after having started pre-sales of the sedan on August 20.

Denza's Z9GT, another model in the Z series, hit the market on September 20 at a starting price of RMB 334,800 yuan.

The Denza N9 is a six-seat hybrid SUV that is 5,258 mm long and powered by three electric motors.
