VW's Cupra brand warns its China-made EV model would be 'wiped out' by EU tariffs

"The intention was to protect the European car industry but for us, it's having the opposite effect .... We need to find a solution," Cupra's CEO said.

VW Anhui starts production of Cupra Tavascan EV for export to Europe

Volkswagen Anhui has started production of the Cupra Tavascan for export to Europe, and another Volkswagen-branded model for the Chinese market will roll off the production line in 2024.

VW Anhui sees first pre-production vehicle roll off line

The model could be the first electric SUV from VW's Spanish sports brand Cupra -- the Tavascan -- and is expected to go into production in the second half of 2023.

    VW to export China-made EVs to Europe

    VW's Spanish sports brand Cupra will produce its first electric SUV, the Tavascan, at its Anhui plant, with the model set to enter the European market in 2024.
