Li Auto said it was targeting 3,000 charging stations by 2025 when it unveiled its all-electric solution at last year's Shanghai auto show.

StarCharge is considering an IPO in Hong Kong, potentially raising about $500 million and seeking a $5 billion valuation, according to Bloomberg.

The facilities allow vehicles to charge during low electricity use and discharge during peak times, helping to smooth the load on the grid and provide financial rewards for vehicle owners.

Nio aims to add 1,000 battery swap stations and 20,000 charging piles in 2024 in China.

As of November 30, Nio had 142 Nio Houses, 320 Nio Spaces, and 2,217 battery swap stations worldwide.

BMW Brilliance and Mercedes-Benz will set up a 50:50 shareholding joint venture to operate a supercharging network in China.

Nio launched the Jia Dian App in September 2019, claiming to support 90 percent of public charging piles in China, and saw over 1 million registered users in June 2022.

To date, Tesla has opened more than 350 Supercharger stations and more than 260 destination charging stations to other brands in the Chinese mainland.

About 80 percent of the power supplied by Nio's chargers is used by other brands of EVs, with BYD models using 19.4 percent and Tesla 12.3 percent.

This is part of Polestar China's efforts to build its own charging service system, with the company building its own charging network and accessing more third-party chargers.
