BYD is looking to enter the Canadian auto market, although the North American country is considering tariffs on EVs from China.

So far this month, Nio had 18,700 insurance registrations, Xpeng 7,800, Li Auto 43,000, Tesla 41,900, Xiaomi 11,400 and BYD 257,900.

The Sealion 6 DM-i, known in China as the Song Plus DM-i, is the latest model offered by BYD in the Philippines after the Atto 3, Dolphin, Han, and Tang.

The Bao 5 was launched on November 9, 2023, and monthly deliveries have been below 3,000 units for the past three months.

As its channels improve, Fang Cheng Bao will probably launch new products every quarter from the fourth quarter onwards, the head of the BYD sub-brand said.

BYD has launched the Song L DM-i and the 2025 Song Plus DM-i, the second batch of DM 5.0-powered hybrid models after the Seal 06 DM-i and Qin L DM-i hybrid sedans.

BYD will help build South Africa's first fleet of electric buses, with deliveries of those vehicles set to begin in December.

By the end of 2023, BYD's workforce totaled 703,504, including 524,673 production workers and 104,003 technicians.

Deutsche Bank also expects Tesla to sell 45,000 units at retail in China in July, Li Auto at 48,000 units and Zeekr at 15,000 units.
