A BYD executive said the company's sales are doing well at the moment, but he hasn't heard that the sales target has been revised upward.

Denza started the pre-sales of the Z9GT on August 20, with a price range of RMB 339,800 ($47,770) to RMB 419,800.

In the January-August period, BYD was No. 1 in the NEV market with a 34.6 percent share, while Tesla was No. 3 with 6.5 percent.

CATL's share in August decreased by 2.84 percentage points from July, while BYD increased by 2.14 percentage points.

BYD has raised its annual sales target to 4 million units, Morgan Stanley analyst Tim Hsiao said in a research note citing comments from the NEV maker's management.

Li Auto had 10,700 insurance registrations last week, Xpeng 3,600, Zeekr 4,600, Leapmotor 6,300 and Aito 7,700.

BYD rolled out the 2025 Han sedan, with the hybrid Han DM-i upgraded to the DM 5.0 system and the pure electric Han EV upgraded to the 800 V high-voltage architecture.

Originally launched in July 2020, the BYD Han has accumulated sales of more than 800,000 units to date.

The Sealion 05 DM-i is a compact five-seat hybrid SUV that is expected to be equipped with BYD's latest DM 5.0 technology.

CATL and BYD continue to hold the top two spots as the world's largest battery makers in January-July, with several other Chinese companies in the top 10.
