Battery Swap

A fake rumor yesterday claimed that Mercedes-Benz will use Nio's battery swap network and will build its next-generation models based on Nio's standards.

In the Qiji Energy solution, a single battery block has a capacity of 171 kWh and heavy-duty trucks can choose to use 1-3 blocks.

EVOGO's battery swap service was previously available in Xiamen, Hefei and Guiyang.

As of May 31, Nio had 118 Nio Houses and 269 Nio Spaces worldwide.

Nio is aiming to add 1,000 battery swap stations this year, and to make up for the lack of capacity, it decided to build a new plant in Hefei to produce them, an executive said.

Nio and Shell signed a strategic partnership agreement in November 2021 to collaborate on charging and battery swap facilities in China and Europe.

Nio's 1,400th battery swap station in China was built with German retail giant METRO, and the two have built a total of 21 such facilities together to date.

Nio saw 68,748 battery swap services on April 29, the highest number in a single day during the holiday, with its sites along the highway providing 23,460 services that day.

On April 28, Nio saw a record 62,746 battery swap services provided in a single day, with the stations along highways providing 104 percent more service than the previous day.

Nio offered similar benefits during the Chinese New Year holiday earlier in the year and saw a surge in battery swap services.
