- The Luxeed V9 starts at 389,800 yuan ($57,290), marking the first MPV model under Huawei's HIMA alliance.
- The MPV secured over 40,000 pre-orders before its official launch, with initial deliveries expected to begin in early June.

Luxeed, a new brand jointly created by Huawei and Chery (HKEX: 9973), officially launched the V9 multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) on Friday, marking the first MPV model under Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA).
The Luxeed V9 starts at 389,800 yuan ($57,290), a pricing strategy aimed at capturing a share of the luxury commercial vehicle market dominated by General Motors and BYD in China. The first batch of vehicles is expected to be delivered in early June.
The Luxeed V9 is available in four trims — Max, Max+, Ultra, and Ultra+ — all of which are extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs). They are priced at 389,800 yuan, 429,800 yuan, 459,800 yuan, and 519,800 yuan, respectively.
The three-row, seven-seat vehicle measures 5,359 mm in length, 2,009 mm in width, and 1,859/1,879 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm.
The model is equipped with a 1.5-liter range-extender engine and batteries from CATL (HKEX: 3750), powered by a drive system provided by Huawei.
It features battery packs with capacities of 37 kWh or 53.4 kWh, providing a battery range of 158 to 223 kilometers. The vehicle boasts a maximum combined range of 1,250 kilometers on a full charge and a full tank of fuel.
The vehicle's chassis system utilizes the Huawei Turing platform, and all models come standard with rear-wheel steering for a more agile handling experience.
One of the model's key selling points is Huawei's latest ADS 5 smart driving system, paired with 38 sensors, including Huawei's 896-channel LiDAR.
This enables complex road perception and safe obstacle avoidance that surpass human driving capabilities, Huawei executive director Richard Yu said at the launch event.
The Luxeed V9 is also equipped with second-row zero-gravity seats that can rotate 180 degrees and features an in-car oxygen concentrator.
It also includes a high-power heating and cooling refrigerator capable of maintaining its cooling effect for more than 12 hours when the vehicle is powered off in an ambient temperature of 30 degrees Celsius.
Since pre-sales began on April 22, cumulative pre-orders for the Luxeed V9 have surpassed 40,000 units, Chery chairman Yin Tongyue said at the launch event in Shanghai today.
Yin said Chery has invested over 20 billion yuan in dedicated funds for the Luxeed project, treating it as the highest-level strategic special zone within the group.
He said that Huawei has debuted 57 core technologies on the brand, aiming to set new quality and technology benchmarks for the industry.
The launch of the Luxeed V9 comes at a time as Huawei expands its influence in the automotive sector, with its HIMA business now encompassing five partners: Chery, Seres, BAIC, JAC, and SAIC.
The model is also the first released since former BYD Denza sales chief Zhao Changjiang joined Luxeed.
Zhao announced his official move to Luxeed in January, taking on the role of executive director and executive vice president.
During his tenure as head of sales at Denza, the brand launched the D9 MPV, which became Denza's primary volume driver.
