Xpeng's (NYSE: XPEV) vehicle deliveries remain dominated by the affordable electric sedan Mona M03, and the company is set to launch its new flagship GX SUV (sport utility vehicle) soon to bolster its efforts in the premium market.
The Mona M03 delivered 13,699 vehicles in April, contributing 44.17% of the electric vehicle (EV) maker's total deliveries of 31,011 units for the month, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) compiled by CnEVPost.
The model's monthly deliveries fell 3.60% year-on-year, but rose 46.75% from 9,335 units in March.
In the January-April period, cumulative deliveries of the Mona M03 reached 34,131 units, down 44.35% year-on-year, contributing 36.43% of Xpeng's total deliveries during the same period.
The Mona M03, which currently has a starting price range of 119,800 yuan ($17,630) to 151,800 yuan, has seen cumulative deliveries of 258,429 vehicles since its launch, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The G6 sport utility vehicle (SUV) recorded 5,692 deliveries in April, making it Xpeng's second-highest selling model. The vehicle has a starting price of 176,800 yuan.
This represents a 26.87% decline year-on-year and a 0.73% drop from March. The SUV contributed 18.35% of Xpeng's total deliveries in April.
In the January-April period, the G6 delivered 18,233 units cumulatively, down 12.84% year-on-year, and accounted for 19.46% of Xpeng's total deliveries in the first four months of the year.
The P7+ sedan delivered 3,999 vehicles in April, ranking as the company's third-highest selling model. The model is priced between 186,800 yuan and 208,800 yuan.
This was down 45.90% year-on-year, but up 6.24% from March deliveries. The electric sedan contributed 12.90% of Xpeng's total April deliveries.
During the January-April period, cumulative deliveries of the P7+ stood at 13,065 units, a 58.2% decrease from a year earlier, accounting for 13.94% of the company's total deliveries for the period.
Deliveries of the X9 multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) came in at 2,951 units in April, contributing 9.52% of the monthly total. It is priced between 309,800 yuan and 369,800 yuan.
The monthly deliveries rose 23.78% year-on-year but fell 4.03% from March. During the January-April period, cumulative deliveries of the X9 reached 12,122 units.
The P7 sedan delivered 1,905 vehicles in April, contributing 6.14% of the company's monthly deliveries. This represented an 18.62% increase from 1,606 units in March.
In the January-April period, the P7 delivered 5,051 units cumulatively, surging 444.29% year-on-year and contributing 5.39% of Xpeng's total deliveries during this period.
Deliveries of the G7 SUV stood at 1,571 units in April, down 34.46% from March. The model contributed 5.07% to Xpeng's total deliveries for the month.
In the January-April period, cumulative deliveries of the G7 were 6,322 units, accounting for 6.75% of the company's total deliveries for the period.
The G9 SUV delivered 1,194 vehicles in April, down 61.08% year-on-year, which accounted for 3.85% of Xpeng's total April deliveries.
For the first four months of the year, cumulative deliveries of the G9 reached 4,769 units, down 45.01% year-on-year, contributing 5.09% of the company's total deliveries for the period.
Xpeng's retail sales in the domestic Chinese market totaled 25,005 units in April, according to the CPCA.
Excluding domestic retail sales, Xpeng also saw notable export performance in April, with export figures reaching 6,006 units, demonstrating progress in its overseas market expansion.
