Voyah, the premium EV brand under Dongfeng Motor, has started teasing a new model as it expands its product lineup.

Voyah shared multiple images on Friday of the coupe sport utility vehicle (SUV), internally codenamed FE. Text painted on the car's body suggests it will be equipped with Huawei's 896-channel LiDAR.

Huawei's Qiankun business unit unveiled the image-grade LiDAR in March. It is the world's highest-specification LiDAR mass-produced to date and has already been adopted by multiple vehicle models.

With the help of this sensor and Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 assisted driving system, the Voyah FE is expected to be able to identify 14-centimeter-high obstacles from 120 meters away, regardless of severe weather. It also features three additional LiDARs.

The Voyah FE is one of Voyah's new models for this year and is expected to hit the market in mid-year.

The brand began pre-sales for its new large SUV, the Taishan X8, on April 22, with a starting pre-sales price of 302,900 yuan ($44,360).

The Taishan X8 is also equipped with Huawei's 896-channel LiDAR, along with three additional LiDARs, to achieve stronger environmental perception capabilities.

The Taishan X8 will officially launch on May 22. Cumulative orders surpassed 40,000 units within 13 days of opening for pre-sale, according to Voyah.

The model offers consumers a choice between plug-in hybrid and pure electric powertrain versions, with the pure electric version reaching a maximum driving range of up to 727 kilometers.

Voyah's current models on sale cover three major categories: SUVs, MPVs, and sedans, all of which are premium NEVs.

Core products include the Voyah Passion series sedans, Voyah Free series SUVs, and Voyah Dream series MPVs.

Voyah has recently shown strong growth momentum in sales, with its global deliveries in April surging 51% year-on-year to reach 15,146 units.

Voyah delivered 15,146 vehicles in April, up 51% year-on-year and 0.85% from the previous month.
