- Jetta plans to launch four NEV models in China by 2028, targeting the entry-level market.
- The SUV concept marks Jetta's transition toward electrification and a strategic shift toward independent operations in China.

Volkswagen Group's Jetta brand has officially unveiled the Jetta X concept car, with the all-new model making its global debut at a media night event on April 21.
The unveiling marks a new phase in the brand's comprehensive transition toward electrification, as it prepares to compete in the fiercely contested entry-level market in China.
Positioned as an SUV, the Jetta X concept adopts a new design language, presenting an overall boxy and rugged off-road style.
The model features a tech-savvy illuminated brand logo for the first time, along with a matte forest green body and a trendy floating roof design.
The Jetta brand is targeting the entry-level NEV market priced around 100,000 yuan ($14,660).
Volkswagen Group expects compact models to account for half of the NEV market by 2030, becoming a core driver of market growth.
According to its latest strategic plan, the Jetta brand aims to launch five new models by 2028, four of which will be NEVs.
The first mass-produced NEV model is expected to officially hit the Chinese market later this year. The brand has set a medium-term target of 400,000 to 500,000 units in annual production and sales.
The move follows the establishment of FAW Volkswagen Jetta Automotive Technology Co, a new company aimed at enhancing the brand's independent operational capabilities in the local Chinese market.
This will help Jetta better integrate Volkswagen's technological expertise with the local supply chain, enabling it to compete against China's domestic new energy brands.
