- Chery said the QQ3 EV secured 56,879 orders roughly two hours after its launch event ended.
- The aggressive pricing of the QQ3 EV poses a direct threat to the Leapmotor A10 launched just a week ago.

Chery officially launched its new pure electric compact car, the QQ3 EV, undercutting Leapmotor's recently released A10 and highlighting the fierce competition in China's budget EV market.
The small EV hit the market on Monday with a limited-time starting price of 58,900 yuan ($8,530), lower than its pre-sales price of 68,920 yuan earlier this month and the 65,800 yuan starting price of the Leapmotor A10.
About two hours after the launch event for the model concluded, Chery announced that orders for the QQ3 EV had reached 56,879 units, though it did not specify whether that figure included pre-orders.
The QQ3 EV is available in four different trim levels, with the top-tier version carrying a limited-time starting price of 78,900 yuan.
The compact car measures 4,195 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width, and 1,573 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.
In comparison, the Leapmotor A10 measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,605 mm.
The QQ3 EV features a rear-mounted, rear-wheel-drive layout, with a maximum motor power of 90 kW and a peak torque of 115 Nm.
It is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering 29.48 kWh and 41.28 kWh options that deliver CLTC ranges of 310 kilometers and 420 kilometers, respectively.
The model supports fast charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 30% to 80% in no more than 16.5 minutes.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle features a 15.6-inch 2.5K resolution central control screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.
Certain trims integrate the Carmind intelligent agent, which supports voice interaction across multiple scenarios.
Chery's highly aggressive pricing strategy directly challenges the A10, as the QQ3 EV's starting price is nearly 10,000 yuan cheaper than the Leapmotor model.
Notably, Leapmotor equipped the 86,800 yuan top-tier version of the A10 with LiDAR to provide better assisted driving capabilities.
The QQ3 EV does not use LiDAR, but it is equipped with the Falcon 500 intelligent driving assistance control system. This Chery-provided software system supports automated parking in over 100 different environmental scenarios.
It also features a navigation assisted driving system tailored for complex urban roads and highway environments, thereby enhancing the driving experience.
