Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Zeekr has announced update plans for its flagship MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) model, the 009, attempting to consolidate its competitiveness in the high-end electric MPV market.
Zeekr released a teaser for the updated Zeekr 009 on Friday, stating that the new model is scheduled to officially launch in the second quarter of 2026.
The updated version will be upgraded to a full-stack 900-volt high-voltage architecture and equipped with Nvidia's new-generation Drive Thor-U assisted driving chip.
Zeekr said that specific product configurations will be announced at the official launch. This upgrade is expected to focus on improving energy replenishment efficiency and smart driving capabilities.
The Zeekr 009 is currently the brand's flagship MPV model, originally released in 2022 and with deliveries beginning in 2023.
It currently offers 3 variants in the Chinese market, with starting prices of 439,000 yuan ($63,620), 459,000 yuan, and 469,000 yuan, respectively.
In addition, the Zeekr 009 also offers a special edition — the Zeekr 009 Grand, with its two versions starting at 789,000 yuan and 899,000 yuan, respectively.
Zeekr said that since its launch, the 009 has been the best-selling MPV priced above 400,000 yuan in China for two consecutive years.
The current model utilizes an 800-volt high-voltage architecture, maintaining an industry-leading position in charging efficiency, range performance, and power performance, the company said today.
Ahead of the new model's launch, Zeekr is offering limited-time purchase discounts for the current 009. The company has introduced promotional policies including a 7-year ultra-low interest loan or a 0-interest financial plan for the first 5 years.
In recent years, competition in China's high-end EV market has continued to intensify. Automakers are competing for high-end consumers through technological upgrades and product segmentation.
