On the eve of the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC) opening in Barcelona, a mysterious high-performance concept car from Xiaomi was spotted in Spain.

Chinese automotive media outlet Auto Home shared several spy photos of the concept car on Friday, suggesting it is likely Xiaomi's first Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) concept car developed in collaboration with the racing game Gran Turismo and is expected to be officially unveiled during this year's MWC.

The spy shots reveal an aggressively aerodynamic design featuring a low-slung, wide body, massive carbon-fiber spoiler and side skirts, with "Xiaomi" emblazoned on the wheels.

The model is likely an exclusive futuristic concept car developed through Xiaomi's partnership with Sony PlayStation's renowned racing simulation game Gran Turismo, marking a key step in deepening Xiaomi's international automotive narrative.

MWC will take place at the Fira Gran Via exhibition center in Barcelona, Spain, from March 2-5.

In June 2025, Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, chairman, and CEO, announced that the company's flagship performance model, the SU7 Ultra, would be featured in Gran Turismo 7, marking the first Chinese vehicle ever included in the prestigious racing game series.

Subsequently, in July last year, Xiaomi formally registered copyrights including "Xiaomi Vision GT," paving the way for this concept car's unveiling.

The Vision Gran Turismo project has long served as a global stage for top automakers to showcase future design visions unbound by real-world engineering, cost, and regulatory constraints.

Xiaomi's introduction of the VGT concept car aims not only to captivate tens of millions of young gamers worldwide but also to demonstrate the rapid rise of China's automotive industry in electrification and extreme performance to the international market.

Xiaomi's ambitions on the virtual racetrack are built upon its performance achievements in the real world.

In June 2025, the production version Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, driven by Vincent Radermecker, shattered the Nürburgring Nordschleife record with a lap time of 7:04.957, becoming the fastest production electric vehicle (EV) in the circuit's history.

Earlier in October 2024, its prototype achieved a 6:46.874 lap time.

Launched in late February 2025, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra delivers 1,548 Ps of maximum horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds, positioning it among China's most powerful EV models.

The SU7 Ultra starts at RMB 529,900 ($77,270), more than double the base price of RMB 215,900 for the regular SU7.
