Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV, HKG: 9868) will also roll out the updated versions of its G6 and G9 SUVs (sport utility vehicles) at tomorrow's launch event, alongside the previously announced updated P7+ sedan and G7 SUV's extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variant.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today that the updated G6 and G9 will be launched at the January 8 event, scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm Beijing time.
Xpeng did not disclose further details about the updated G6 and G9, but indicated they will utilize the company's in-house developed Turing AI chip. Older versions of these SUVs employed Nvidia's autonomous driving chips.

The G7 SUV, launched in July 2025, is the first Xpeng model equipped with the Turing chip. The Ultra variant features three Turing chips: two for autonomous driving and one for powering cabin services.
On January 4, Xpeng announced that the updated P7+ and G7 extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions would be launched in China on January 8 and in Europe on January 9.
The company's China launch event will begin at 3:00 pm Beijing time in Guangzhou -- the city where Xpeng is headquartered -- while the European launch will start at 9:00 am local time in Brussels, Belgium.
The G6 and G9 received their last update in March 2025, when the G6's starting price dropped by 11.56% to RMB 176,800 ($25,300) and the G9's starting price decreased by 5.72% to RMB 248,800.
The G6 delivered 71,471 units in the first 11 months of 2025, marking a 48.57% year-on-year increase, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The G9 delivered 25,169 units during the same period, representing a 2.40% year-on-year growth.
