The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered 48,135 vehicles in December, surpassing its previous record of 40,397 units set in October, according to data released today.
This represents a 54.59 percent year-on-year increase and a 32.69 percent rise from November.
This surge was primarily driven by the robust performance of the third-generation ES8, fueling growth for the premium Nio brand, while momentum for the sub-brand Onvo slowed.
The Nio brand achieved a record 31,897 deliveries in December, surpassing the 30,000-unit threshold for the first time. This represents a 54.76 percent year-on-year increase and a 73.42 percent rise from November.
On December 29, the third-generation ES8 reached its 40,000th delivery just 100 days after its market launch, implying December deliveries were about 20,000 units. The exact figure is expected to be available later this month.
The company's mass-market sub-brand Onvo delivered 9,154 vehicles in December, down 13.05 percent year-on-year and down 22.38 percent month-on-month.
Another sub-brand, Firefly, delivered 7,084 units in December, a 16.36 percent increase from November.
