Chery's (HKG: 9973) premium automotive brand Exeed officially launched the ET5 mid-size SUV (sport utility vehicle) today, targeting young families.
The extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) comes in two variants, with an effective starting price of RMB 134,900 ($19,070) after a trade-in subsidy by the brand. This represents a reduction of RMB 25,000, or 15.63 percent, from the RMB 159,900 pre-sales price announced earlier this month.
Notably, in China, the ET5 is most widely recognized as the midsize electric sedan from Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO).
Exeed previously said that "ET" stands for "Enjoy Time," embodying its vision to create a premium, joyful mobility lifestyle for global family users.
The Exeed ET5 is a mid-size extended-range SUV that debuted at the 2025 Chengdu auto show in late August and commenced pre-sales on November 13.
The model will compete against vehicles including the BYD Song Plus DM-i, Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) C11, and Deepal S7.
The Exeed ET5 offers two variants with official starting prices of RMB 144,900 and RMB 159,900 respectively.
Exeed provides a RMB 10,000 trade-in subsidy, effectively lowering the starting prices to RMB 134,900 and RMB 149,900.
The Exeed ET5 measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
It features a 1.5T engine serving as a range extender, delivering a maximum power output of 115 kW.
The SUV features rear-wheel drive with a single motor with a peak power of 195 kW, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds.
It utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries from Gotion High-tech (SHE: 002074), with a capacity of 32.66 kWh, delivering a CLTC range of 210 kilometers.
With a full tank and fully charged battery, the Exeed ET5 achieves a CLTC range of 1,310 kilometers.
The Exeed ET5 is the first model to feature Horizon Robotics' (HKG: 9660) Journey 6P chip and HSD (Horizon SuperDrive) smart driving system, delivering 560 TOPS of computing power.
The higher-priced variant includes a LiDAR sensor, while the entry-level model does not.
Exeed is expanding its ET lineup, having also filed for the larger ET7 SUV, according to regulatory filings disclosed on November 10.
Beyond the ET5 and ET7, Exeed's Sterrea range includes the Sterrea ET and Sterrea ES models.
