Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) today officially launched the updated Zeekr X compact SUV (sport utility vehicle), offering enhanced features at lower prices to address intense competition.
The updated Zeekr X starts at RMB 145,800 ($20,460) after limited-time incentives, representing a RMB 3,200 ($470) or 2.15 percent reduction from its predecessor's RMB 149,000 starting price.
Its base model features a 61.47-kWh battery pack delivering 530 km CLTC range. The previous generation's entry-level model featured a 49-kWh battery pack with a CLTC range of 420 kilometers.
The Zeekr X was initially launched in China on April 12, 2023. Zeekr rolled out the 2024 Zeekr X on January 10, 2024, followed by the 2025 Zeekr X on July 1, less than six months later.
The model is Zeekr's compact SUV designed for urban mobility, competing in the compact luxury segment dominated by Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi.
The updated Zeekr X measures 4,450mm in length, 1,836mm in width, and 1,572mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750mm -- unchanged from its predecessor.
The compact SUV offers three variants -- the Max five-seat version, Max four-seat version, and Ultra five-seat version -- with starting guide prices of RMB 155,800, RMB 159,800, and RMB 175,800 respectively.
Customers who place orders before December 31 qualify for a RMB 10,000 trade-in subsidy, effectively lowering the starting prices to RMB 145,800, RMB 149,800, and RMB 165,800.
In China's fiercely competitive EV market, time-limited incentives often signal permanent price reductions.
The older Zeekr X was offered in China with four variants, starting at RMB 149,000 to RMB 179,000.
The two lower-priced variants of the updated Zeekr X are single-motor models, featuring a motor with a peak power of 250 kW (335 horsepower) and capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.
The highest-priced variant is a dual-motor model, with a powertrain peak power of 365 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.69 seconds.
The single-motor versions feature a 61.47-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering a CLTC range of 530 kilometers. They can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 15 minutes.
The dual-motor version is equipped with a 66-kWh ternary lithium battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 512 kilometers. It can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
The Zeekr brand delivered 21,423 vehicles in October, marking a 14.48 percent year-on-year decline but a 17.34 percent increase from September, according to data released on November 1.
The Zeekr X delivered 739 units in September, down 27.19 percent year-on-year and down 13.57 percent month-on-month, according to data compiled by CnEVPost. Model-specific delivery breakdowns for October are not yet available.
