Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) announced today that its extended-range X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) will officially debut next week and revealed additional specifications for the model.

The electric vehicle (EV) maker did not specify an exact date, though this is expected to be November 5, when the company will hold its 2025 AI Day event.

The X9 extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) is the world's longest-range large seven-seater, having a CLTC combined range of 1,602 kilometers, Xpeng said today on Weibo.

It has 452 km of battery range, also the longest among hybrid large seven-seat models globally, it said.

The X9 EREV is also the world's strongest large seven-seat model in AI computing power, equipped with three self-developed Turing AI driving chips and one Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P cockpit chip, according to the company.

The vehicle's smart driving computing power reaches 2,250 TOPS, equivalent to nine Nvidia Orin-X chips, Xpeng said.

Xpeng unveiled its Kunpeng Super Electric System at the 2024 AI Day in November 2024. The X9 EREV will be the first of its many EREV models utilizing this system.

Earlier this month, Xpeng said the X9 EREV features a 63.3-kWh battery pack and a 60-liter fuel tank, delivering a combined range of 1,602 kilometers.

The X9 was initially launched in China on January 1, 2024, marking Xpeng's first MPV model.

It also represents Xpeng's most expensive offering, currently priced starting at RMB 359,800 ($50,610) in China.

The EREV variant of the X9 appeared in an August regulatory catalog from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), revealing dimensions of 5,316 mm in length, 1,988 mm in width, and 1,785 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm.

It is longer than the all-electric Xpeng X9's 5,293 mm length, with other dimensions identical.

Xpeng also filed for the EREV version of its G7 SUV last month and filed for EREV versions of the G6 SUV and P7+ sedan earlier this month.
