Luxeed has started pre-sales for the updated S7 pure electric sedan and the updated R7 coupe SUV (sport utility vehicle), as the new automotive brand co-developed by Huawei and Chery enters its "Phase 2.0."
The updated Luxeed S7 is priced at RMB 258,000 ($35,920), while the R7 is priced at RMB 268,000, according to information released today.
Interested Chinese customers can pay RMB 2,000 to reserve either model and receive a RMB 5,000 discount on the final purchase price.
Luxeed announced on Weibo shortly after the start of pre-sales that the two updated models had received over 10,000 pre-orders in the first hour.
The currently available Luxeed S7 comes in three variants -- Pro, Max, and Ultra -- with starting prices of RMB 229,800, RMB 269,800, and RMB 319,800, respectively.
The Luxeed R7 is available in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, with starting prices ranging from RMB 249,800 to RMB 339,800.
Both updated models will feature improved driver assistance systems and are expected to officially launch in September.
The updated S7 and R7 are equipped with Huawei's ADS 4 driver assistance system, which is considered one of the most powerful in China.
In terms of hardware, they come standard with a 192-channel LiDAR, a rear-facing high-precision solid-state LiDAR, and five 4D millimeter-wave radars.
