Geely Galaxy, a sub-brand of Geely Auto, has shared the first official images of the Geely Galaxy M9, as the global debut of its six-seat flagship SUV (sport utility vehicle) approaches later today.
Geely Galaxy shared four images of the M9 on Weibo today, showing off the model's exterior.
The M9 will make its world debut at an event in Milan, Italy, starting at 8:30 pm Beijing time tonight, Geely Galaxy said.
Geely Galaxy announced on Weibo on May 19 that its large six-seat flagship SUV was officially named the Geely Galaxy M9, starting the preview for the new model.
The M9 will be loaded with peak technologies, creating good times for users around the world, Geely Galaxy previously said.
Geely Galaxy was originally a new product lineup that was officially launched on February 23, 2023. On March 3 of this year, Geely announced that Geely Galaxy was upgraded to a new brand.
Geely Galaxy currently sells the Xingyuan, L6, L7, E8, Starship 7, Starship 8, and LEVC L380.
The brand has seen significant sales growth over the past year, allowing Geely to rapidly increase its share of China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market.
In the January-April period, BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) ranked No. 1 in China's NEV market with retail sales of 964,940 units and a 29.0 percent share, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Geely ranked No. 2 in China's NEV market with retail sales of 440,592 units and a 13.3 percent share in January-April.
In the global battery electric vehicle (BEV) market, Geely, which includes Geely as well as the Geely Galaxy lineups, was No. 3 in the first quarter with a 6.9 percent share, according to a report yesterday by market research firm TrendForce.
The Geely Xingyuan and Geely Galaxy E5, both of which went on sale in the second half of 2024, continued to sell well through the first quarter of 2025, with overall year-on-year sales growth of 443 percent, TrendForce noted.
Geely Galaxy sold 96,632 vehicles in April, up 659.39 percent year-on-year, according to data released by Geely earlier this month.
