Nio (NYSE: NIO) began accepting pre-orders for the facelifted ES6 SUV (sport utility vehicle) and EC6 coupe SUV, as well as the ET5 and ET5 Touring sedans in China today, with the official launch set for later this month.
Customers who pay RMB 5,000 ($690) to pre-order any of the four models now can receive a bonus credit worth RMB 1,000 upon delivery, according to an article posted on the Nio App.
Customers who lock in their orders by June 30 can get up to 240 free battery swaps over five years.
Show cars of the updated ES6 and EC6 are already available at Nio showrooms, and the official launch will be on May 16, when test drives will be open.
Show cars of the updated ET5 and ET5 Touring will be available at Nio showrooms from May 22, and their official launch will be on May 25, when test drives will be open.
Deliveries of the four models will be made in the order in which customers lock in their orders.
Nio did not mention the prices of the facelifted ES6, EC, ET5 and ET5T, which are expected to be available at the time of their official launch.
The 2024 ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5 Touring were all available in just one regular variant each, with starting prices of RMB 338,000, RMB 358,000, RMB 298,000, and RMB 298,000 respectively.
Nio shared multiple images of the facelifted ES6, EC, ET5, ET5 Touring yesterday, showing off the exteriors and interior details.
They have slight tweaks to the exteriors, with the main changes focusing on the interiors and elsewhere.
These facelifted models will use horizontal center screens instead of the previous vertical ones and will use Nio's own Shenji autonomous driving chip.
The updated ES6 and EC6 will deliver a more luxurious, smarter and safer mobility experience, Nio said yesterday.
Since their launches, the ES6 and EC6 have gained nearly 370,000 users, leading China's high-end pure-electric SUV market, the company said.
The facelifted ET5 and ET5 Touring will be upgraded in terms of design, space, handling and intelligence, Nio said.
