- Nio will begin accepting pre-orders for the updated ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5 Touring on Saturday, May 10.
- Show cars of the updated ES6 and EC6 will be available at Nio showrooms in China starting May 10.

Nio (NYSE: NIO) will begin accepting pre-orders for the updated ES6 SUV (sport utility vehicle), EC6 coupe SUV, and ET5, ET5 Touring sedans tomorrow, kicking off the refresh of its main-selling models.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker will start taking pre-orders for these four updated models on Saturday, May 10, it announced in several Weibo posts today.
Show cars of the updated ES6 and EC6 will be available at Nio's showrooms in China starting May 10, Nio said.
The two SUVs will deliver a more luxurious, smarter and safer traveling experience, Nio said.
The ES6 and EC6 have gained nearly 370,000 users since their launches, leading China's premium pure-electric SUV market, the company said.
The updated ET5 and ET5 Touring will be upgraded in terms of design, space, handling and intelligence, Nio said, without mentioning when the show cars of the two models will be available.
The official launch of these models could take place at a much later date, with the updated ET5, ET5 Touring possibly coming later than the updated ES6, EC6.
On February 8, Nio founder, chairman and CEO William Li said in a live video stream that Nio Inc would have new product launches every quarter this year from the second quarter to the fourth quarter.
There will be facelifts for the ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6, with minor exterior changes and interior updates, Li said at the time.
The facelifted models would use horizontal center screens instead of the previous vertical ones and will use Nio's own Shenji autonomous driving chip, Li said.
Images shared by Nio today show that the four facelifted models don't have many changes to the exteriors, with the most noticeable change to the interiors being the use of horizontal center screens similar to the one found on the ET9 executive sedan.
Over the past few years, horizontal screens have become the preferred choice for mainstream EV models as they offer a better infotainment experience.
Nio-branded models had previously used vertical screens, a setup that has been the subject of many complaints.
The first model of Nio's sub-brand Onvo, the L60, and the first model of another sub-brand, Firefly, have started using horizontal center screens.
The 2024 ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5 Touring were all available in just one regular variant each, with starting prices of RMB 338,000 ($46,680), RMB 358,000, RMB 298,000, and RMB 298,000 respectively.
Nio today did not mention pricing information for the updated versions of these four models.
These four models are Nio's main sellers, with a combined total of 180,038 units delivered in 2024, contributing 81.11 percent of Nio Inc's 221,970 deliveries in 2024 and 89.48 percent of the Nio brand's 201,209 deliveries.
The ES6 was the single most important model, with 75,433 deliveries in 2024, contributing 33.98 percent of Nio Inc's and 37.49 percent of the Nio brand's deliveries.
Nio Inc delivered 23,900 vehicles in April, its second highest ever, after 31,138 in December last year.
In the January-April period, Nio Inc delivered 65,994 vehicles, up 44.49 percent year-on-year. The company is targeting to double deliveries in 2025 compared to 2024.
At the end of April, Nio Inc's cumulative deliveries since inception stood at 737,558 vehicles, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
