- BYD has signed an agreement with Poland's Greenvolt Power to develop a battery energy storage system project in the European country.
- Construction of the project has begun and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.

BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) announced today that its energy storage unit recently signed a cooperation agreement with Poland's Greenvolt Power to jointly develop a battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Poland.
The energy storage project, with a total capacity of up to 1.6 GWh, marks the latest adoption of BYD's energy storage technology in the international market, it said.
The partnership covers the design and operation of two energy storage assets with a total capacity of 400 MW/1.6 GWh, according to a statement.
Construction of the project has officially begun and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.
BYD is providing the MC Cube-T energy storage system for the project, which utilizes CTS (cell to system) integration technology for a small floor space and easy installation, the company said.
With this partnership, Greenvolt is expanding its energy storage program in Europe, solidifying its position as one of the world's leading BESS developers, the statement said.
BYD is one of the world's largest battery makers, with an installed capacity of 194.705 GWh of power and energy storage batteries in 2024, up 29.02 percent year-on-year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
In the first two months of this year, BYD's installed power and energy storage battery volume was 32.206 GWh, up 79.18 percent year-on-year.
