Xpeng's (NYSE: XPEV) Mona M03 electric sedan maintained strong deliveries and is expected to bolster the company's volume in the traditionally weak January.

Mona M03 deliveries surpassed 60,000 units on January 18, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today on Weibo.

“From the 50,000th unit to the 60,000th unit delivered, we used only 15 days!” Xpeng wrote.

The company officially launched the Mona M03 on August 27, 2024, offering three variants with starting prices of RMB 119,800 ($16,370), RMB 129,800, and RMB 155,800 respectively.

The sedan becomes the least expensive of Xpeng's on-sale models, and is about half the price of Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model 3.

Deliveries of the two lower-priced variants of the Mona M03 began at the end of August 2024, while deliveries of the highest-priced Max variant are set to begin in 2025 after the Chinese New Year holiday.

The upcoming Chinese New Year holiday is from January 28 to February 4. Starting this week, many people will leave big cities to visit their families in their hometowns across the country.

On January 3, Xpeng announced that cumulative deliveries of the Mona M03 reached 50,000 units.

The company delivered 36,695 vehicles in December, the fourth consecutive month of record highs.

In addition to the Mona M03, Xpeng's website shows models for sale including the G6, P7+, G9, X9, P7i, and P5.

The P7+ is Xpeng's other hot seller, a mid-to-large-size electric sedan that went on sale on November 7, 2024.

The P7+ delivered 10,035 units in December, bringing cumulative deliveries to 17,507, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Xpeng has already begun previewing the G7 earlier this month, saying the new SUV (sport utility vehicle) model may be the most competitive SUV in the RMB 250,000 class this year.
