By the end of 2025, Xpeng aims to enter more than 60 global markets and hopes to achieve half of its total sales coming from international markets.
Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has struck a distributor agreement to enter the Irish car market, further expanding its presence in Europe.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today that Motor Distributors Limited (MDL) has become the official importer and distributor of its all-electric passenger cars in Ireland.
This reinforces Xpeng's commitment to Europe, with the Irish market being another important right-hand drive market, the company said in a press release.
The launch of the G6 SUV (sport utility vehicle) will mark the start of an ongoing rollout of Xpeng models across Ireland, it said.
The G6 is a mid-size coupe SUV that combines high-end technology with industry-leading features, including 800-volt supercharging and longer range, Xpeng said.
The EV market in Ireland is expanding rapidly due to government incentives, growing infrastructure and increasing demand for sustainable transportation, Xpeng said, adding that its partnership with MDL will meet this growing demand.
As a well-known sedan, light van and commercial vehicle dealer, MDL has extensive market expertise and a strong network that will support Xpeng's expansion in Europe, the EV maker said.
Together, Xpeng and MDL will establish dealerships across Ireland to offer local drivers access to the future of intelligent, eco-friendly mobility, the company said.
Since deliveries began in Norway at the end of 2020, Xpeng has launched its models in a number of countries, including Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Iceland, Spain and Portugal.
By the end of 2025, Xpeng aims to enter more than 60 global markets and hopes to achieve half of its total sales coming from international markets, the company said.
This is Xpeng's latest move in Europe, where it launched the G9 and G6 SUVs and the P7 sedan in Spain and Portugal at the end of September.
