The Sealion 07 EV, renamed Sealion 7 in Europe, is expected to be delivered to the first European customers by the end of this year.
BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has launched the Sealion 07 EV in Europe, as it showcases its models to European audiences at the ongoing Paris auto show.
The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker is showcasing a number of models at the Paris auto show, which began on October 14, and launched the Sealion 07 EV, which has been renamed the Sealion 7 in Europe.
BYD made its European debut at the Paris auto show in 2022 with three vehicle models, and just two years later the company has eight models available in Europe, according to Michael Shu, BYD's European managing director Michael Shu.
The Sealion 7 adds a new all-electric mobility option for European consumers and represents BYD's commitment to the European market, Shu said, according to announcement yesterday.
The first vehicles are expected to be delivered to European customers by the end of this year, according to BYD.
The Sealion 07 SUV (sport utility vehicle) is the first model of BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo -- an upgraded version of the e-Platform 3.0, and went on sale in China on May 10.
The Sealion 07 EV starts at RMB 189,800 ($26,670) in China, with deliveries beginning in May.
It's also the first model in BYD's Sealion lineup, which saw the addition of the hybrid Sealion 05 DM-i in China on September 23.
In addition to the Sealion 07 EV, BYD presented the U8 off-road SUV from its ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang at the Paris auto show, as well as the BYD Seal, marking their French debut.
European audiences can also experience the Dolphin, Yuan Plus, and Song Plus DM-i, according to the company. The Yuan Plus is known as the Atto 3 in Europe, and the Song Plus DM-i is the Seal U DM-i.
In the past two years, BYD has entered more than 20 countries and regions in Europe, launching a wide range of models covering hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs, it said.
As of now, BYD's NEVs are in 95 countries and regions around the world.
BYD sold 419,426 NEVs in September, up 45.91 percent year-on-year and up 12.42 percent from August, according to data it announced on October 1.
In September, BYD sold 33,012 NEVs in overseas markets, up 17.74 percent year-on-year and up 4.96 percent from August.
