Zeekr has launched the right-hand drive version of the Zeekr 009 in Thailand, the second model it is offering in the Southeast Asian country after the Zeekr X SUV.
Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) has launched the right-hand drive version of the Zeekr 009 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) in Thailand, its second model to be offered in the Southeast Asian country.
The Zeekr 009 went on sale in Thailand on September 24 at a starting price of 3,099,000 baht ($94,760), the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker announced today.
Deliveries of the MPV model in Thailand are expected to begin in October this year, Zeekr said in a statement.
The Zeekr 009 is the second model offered by the EV maker in Thailand after the Zeekr X SUV (sport utility vehicle).
The company started accepting pre-orders for both models in Thailand on March 25, with the Zeekr X going on sale in Thailand on July 11 and deliveries beginning on August 1.
To date, Zeekr has opened three stores in Thailand, two in Bangkok and one in Pattaya.
Zeekr will continue to push forward with new stores in Thailand and expects to cover areas including Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Khon Kaen, it said.
The Zeekr 009 was initially launched in the Chinese mainland on November 1, 2022, and is Zeekr's second model after the Zeekr 001, with deliveries beginning in February 2023.
On January 15 of this year, Zeekr launched the 2024 Zeekr 009 with a small increase in starting price and better features.
On April 19, Zeekr rolled out the four-seat Zeekr 009 Grand, targeting the premium segment, including business owners, by making it an all-new model besides the regular Zeekr 009.
Zeekr launched the updated Zeekr 009 and its right-hand drive version in Hong Kong on July 19, offering six- and seven-seat options, unlike its predecessor which was only available in six-seat.
The Zeekr 009 now has a starting price range of RMB 439,000 ($62,450) to RMB 469,000 in the Chinese mainland.
The EV maker delivered 18,015 vehicles in August, up 46.43 percent year-on-year and 15.08 percent from July.
The Zeekr 009 delivered 3,195 units in August, the model's highest-ever single-month delivery, doubling from 1,591 in July, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
