The Lynk & Co Z10 is an all-electric mid to large-size sedan built on the same platform as the Zeekr 001.
Lynk & Co, jointly owned by Geely Auto and Volvo Cars, has launched its first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, the Z10, in China as it pushes ahead with its electrification transition.
Lynk & Co officially rolled out the Z10, an all-electric mid to large-size sedan built on the same platform as Zeekr's (NYSE: ZK) Zeekr 001, at an event yesterday.
Zeekr is another brand under the Geely umbrella, and was officially launched as a standalone company in March 2021. The Zeekr 001 was launched on April 15, 2021, and was a rebranding of the model previously known as the Lynk & Co Zero.
Zeekr has launched a number of battery electric vehicle (BEV) models over the past few years, while Lynk & Co has been slow to progress in this area.
The Lynk & Co Z10 is offered in five variants with starting prices of RMB 202,800 ($28,600), RMB 222,800, RMB 242,800, RMB 255,800 and RMB 299,800 respectively.
The starting price is lower than the model's pre-sale price of RMB 215,800 when it went on pre-sales on August 15. The model debuted on June 12 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Lynk & Co is also offering customers who purchase the Z10 before October 31 a limited-time entitlement of up to RMB 52,000, including a RMB 6,000 discount available on all variants.
Deliveries of the model will begin later this month.
The Lynk & Co Z10 measures 5,028 mm in length, 1,966 mm in width and 1,468 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,005 mm.
The model is offered with three variants built on the 400 V platform and two variants based on the 800 V.
The electrical platform of the Zeekr 001 has been fully upgraded to 800 V. The higher voltage helps the vehicle to achieve better performance and charging speed.
The three 400 V variants of the Lynk & Co Z10 are all single-motor models with a peak motor power of 200 kW and peak torque of 343 Nm, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
Of the two 800 V variants, one is a single-motor model and the other is a dual-motor model. The peak power of the motors is 310 kW for the single-motor model and 580 kW for the dual-motor. They can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and 3.8 seconds, respectively.
The Lynk & Co Z10 is equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by Geely Holding's subsidiary Jidian, with the entry version having a pack capacity of 71 kWh, and all other versions having a capacity of 95 kWh. The model has a CLTC range of 602 km to 806 km.
The model's cockpit system uses an AMD V2000A chip, unlike the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip currently used in China's mainstream high-end BEVs. Lynk & Co said the chip it uses has higher computing power than the 8295 chip.
The Lynk & Co Z10's smart driving system is provided by Lotus Robotics, a smart-driving technology-focused subsidiary of Lotus Technology, a luxury EV company majority-owned by Geely Holding.
The smart driving solution, called Lynk LHP, has been validated in scenarios in 30 countries and is capable of up to 33 driver assistance functions, according to Lynk & Co.
The Lynk & Co Z10 is already capable of using the NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) feature on Chinese highways, and urban area NOA features will be available via OTA updates in the future.
Lynk & Co says Z10 gets over 10,000 pre-orders in 24 hours after pre-sales begin
