Fang Cheng Bao unveiled the new models at its spring launch event in Shenzhen today, debuting its entire product matrix, including the first model, the Bao 5.

The Super 3 is a concept of the yet-to-be-released SUV, the Bao 3, and the Super 9 is a 2-seat supercar concept.

At the upcoming Beijing auto show, Fang Cheng Bao will showcase its full range of models, it said today.

BYD officially unveiled the Fang Cheng Bao brand on August 16, 2023, and debuted the brand's first model, the Bao 5 off-road SUV.

The plug-in hybrid Bao 5 was officially launched on November 9, 2023, with a starting price of RMB 289,800 ($40,040), and deliveries began on November 23.

When BYD announced the Fang Cheng Bao brand, it also unveiled the Super 8, a concept for the Bao 8, and another model, the Bao 3.

Since its launch in November 2023, the Bao 5 has accumulated nearly 20,000 deliveries, Fang Cheng Bao general manager Xiong Tianbo said at today's event.

The Bao 8 is based on the previously announced Super 8 concept, incorporating the design concept of a future starship, Fang Cheng Bao said.

The Super 3, the concept car for the Bao 3, is based on the starfighter-inspired design, with clean, three-dimensional lines creating a sculpted metal body structure that delivers a flamboyant expression of individuality, the brand said.

The Super 9 combines and speed with art, and is a specialized sports car in the Speedster category, featuring a space-cockpit cab, according to the brand.

BYD has created an exclusive DMO platform for the Fang Cheng Bao brand, where O stands for off-road and DM for dual mode.

The DMO is an epoch-making hybrid technology platform that is the final general attack of BYD's new energy vehicles (NEVs) on traditional fuel vehicles, the automaker said at a launch event last August.

The Bao 5, the first model built on the DMO platform, offers off-road performance while achieving the fuel consumption levels and comfort of an urban SUV, Fang Cheng Bao said at today's launch.

Fang Cheng Bao is BYD's new brand targeting the premium market, which is expected to help the auto group achieve higher sales as well as boost profitability.

In 2024, BYD's full-year sales are expected to grow more than 20 percent from 2023, said Wang Chuanfu, the company's chairman and president, at a March 27 investor briefing.

That means BYD expects to sell more than 3.63 million vehicles this year, considering it sold 3,024,417 NEVs in 2023.
