Geely Holding Group announced today that it signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) on March 9 in Beijing.

According to the agreement, the two companies will cooperate in the fields of green low-carbon transformation, methanol industry, new energy and new materials.

Geely has nearly two decades of research and development experience in the methanol field and has developed more than 20 models of methanol-powered vehicles, the automaker said.

The two sides will deepen cooperation in areas including methanol to create a stable, reliable and competitive industrial chain system, Geely said.
