Luxeed, the electric vehicle (EV) brand jointly created by Huawei and Chery, will officially let its first model, the Luxeed S7, debut this Thursday, according to information shared today by one of Huawei's HarmonyOS-related accounts.
At a launch event on November 9, Harmony intelligent mobility will be released and the Luxeed S7 will go on pre-sale, the official account for Harmony intelligent mobility said on Weibo.
The account did not release any more information. Earlier today, Luxeed shared four images of the Luxeed S7 on Weibo, showing exterior details of the sedan.
Retweeting the Weibo, Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei's intelligent vehicle solutions business unit, said the Luxeed S7 will soon be unveiled, and that it will realize further breakthroughs in terms of intelligence, safety, comfort, and performance.
The Luxeed S7 will be the first sedan to be built by Huawei with a car company, after all the models it has built with local automakers have been SUVs, including Aito's M-series models.
Luxeed is Huawei's joint EV brand with Chery, which said in August that the new brand will be the electrified equivalent of BMW.
On August 7, Yu shared an image on Weibo of a model with the word "LUXEED" emblazoned across the front.
Yu said at the time that the model would be the first pure-electric coupe from Huawei's Zhixuan Automotive business, and the first to come with the HarmonyOS 4 operating system.
On August 14, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released a catalog of models that will be allowed to be sold in China for public comment, and the Luxeed S7 was included.
The Luxeed S7 measures 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width and 1,474 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, its filing showed.
The model will be available in single-motor and dual-motor versions, both with Huawei as the motor supplier, and support a top speed of 210 km/h, according to that filing.
The Luxeed S7 will be released in November, and the sedan will outperform Tesla's Model S in every specification, Yu said at a September 25 product launch event.
The Tesla Model S measures 4,979 mm in length, 1,964 mm in width and 1,445 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm.
