The wait time for 's (NYSE: NIO) flagship SUV, the ES8, has gotten slightly shorter in China, marking the first change in wait times for the electric vehicle (EV) maker's models in the past month.

Customers who have ordered the ES8 now are expected to get deliveries in 6-7 weeks, according to information from the Nio App monitored by CnEVPost. That's a 2-week reduction from the 8-9 weeks of the ES8's previous wait time.

Nio currently sells the ES8, ES7, ES6, EC7, ET7, ET5, and ET5 Touring, with unchanged wait times for all but the ES8.

Of Nio's product array, only the EC6 coupe SUV remains to complete its update to the NT 2.0 platform.

Nio plans to release and begin deliveries of the newly upgraded EC6 in September, its management said in an August 29 analyst call following the announcement of its second-quarter earnings.

The ES8, Nio's first production vehicle, was originally released at Nio Day 2017 on December 16, 2017. On December 28, 2019, Nio launched an updated version of the ES8 at Nio Day 2019.

On December 24, 2022, Nio launched the all-new ES8 at Nio Day 2022, and its deliveries began on June 28 of this year.

As Nio's highest-priced model, the ES8 is not the company's main seller, but saw strong deliveries last month.

The ES8 delivered 1,917 units in July, up 226.02 percent from June and a new high since December 2021, as previously reported by CnEVPost.

The ES8 contributed 9.36 percent of Nio's 20,462 vehicles delivered in July.

Nio is expected to announce August deliveries later today. Between August 1 and August 27, a total of 16,000 Nio vehicles were registered for insurance in China, according to figures shared by (NASDAQ: LI) earlier this month.
