This is the fourth consecutive month that GAC Aion has sold more than 40,000 units, a 79.86 percent increase from the previous year.

GAC Aion, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of GAC Group, sold a record 45,025 vehicles in July, though it was essentially flat from the 45,013 units sold in June, data released today showed.

This is the fourth consecutive month that GAC Aion has sold more than 40,000 vehicles, up 79.86 percent from the 25,033 units it sold in the same month last year.

In the January-July period, GAC Aion sold 256,361 vehicles, up 104.62 percent from 125,284 in the same period last year, data monitored by CnEVPost showed.

GAC Aion's current models on sale target the mass market, such as the Aion S sedan with a price range of RMB 139,800 ($19,510) to RMB 172,800.

The company unveiled its new premium brand Hyper on September 15, 2022 in order to enter the higher end of the market, as well as its first model, the Hyper SSR supercar.

GAC Aion is offering two versions of the Hyper SSR with pre-sale prices of RMB 1.286 million and RMB 1.686 million respectively.

The model is the fastest-accelerating car on the planet and will begin mass production and deliveries in October 2023, GAC Aion previously said.

Hyper officially launched the less expensive Hyper GT sedan in China on July 3, the brand's first production model and the 20 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) produced in China.

The Hyper GT is available in five versions with starting prices of RMB 219,900, RMB 245,900, RMB 239,900, RMB 259,900 and RMB 339,900 respectively.

The version with a starting price of RMB 239,900 supports battery swap, which Hyper claims can be completed in as little as two minutes.

Consumers can use a similar leasing model to the when purchasing the car, which reduces the price of the car by RMB 70,000, and pay RMB 980 per month for battery renting.

The Hyper GT sold 2,011 units in July, the brand said today.
