Nio (NYSE: NIO) will begin delivery of the ET5 in Germany on the last day of this month, fulfilling its previous promise to begin European deliveries of the sedan in March.
March 31 is the official delivery date for the Nio ET5 in Germany, and Nio is using it as an opportunity to launch the ET5 first mover campaign, according to an article posted today on the European version of the Nio App.
The first consumers to receive delivery of the Nio ET5 will get a free NOMI Mate voice assistance system and electric folding trailer hitch worth 1,800 euros, according to the article.
Those who have already ordered the ET5 will also receive this benefit, and Nio staff will contact users in the next few days to adjust their orders, according to the article.
The ET5 starts at 47,500 euros in Germany, excluding the battery, and consumers will receive an environmental bonus of 4,500 euros for purchasing the model, according to the article.
In the case of commercial use, users can also benefit from the 0.25 percent tax credit rule that applies to German electric vehicles from January 1, 2019.
The Nio ET5 can currently be ordered in Germany with the above special equipment at no extra charge and is available in limited quantities. The first mover promotion ends with the option of the NOMI Mate for 600 euros and the trailer hookup for 1,200 euros.
"With the launch of the Nio ET5, we are pleased to expand the Nio portfolio in the German market as well as our target group appeal," Ralph Kranz, general manager of Nio Germany, said.
"With the mid-size sedan Nio ET5, we are specifically expanding our electric mobility segment in Germany, creating broader user access to the Nio community thanks to an attractive equipment and price package," he added.
Nio introduced the ET7, EL7 and ET5 to European consumers at the Nio Berlin launch event on October 7 last year. The EL7 is known as the ES7 in China.
Deliveries of the ET7 started in Europe as planned in October last year, and deliveries of the EL7 began at the end of January.
Nio initially offered only vehicle subscription options in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark. At the end of November last year, Nio began offering purchase options in these countries.
Notably, Nio previously announced a starting price of 49,900 euros for the ET5 in Germany, excluding the battery, and the latest information from the Nio App means a slight price reduction for the model.
In addition, a March 1 article in the European version of the Nio App said that Nio will open a new Nio House in Frankfurt on March 30, which will be the company's second in Germany after the facility in Berlin.
