The latest wait time for the ET7 is 6-8 weeks, a significant reduction from the previous 11-13 weeks, which seems to indicate that the model may have gained improved capacity.

Nio started showing vehicle wait times on its mobile app a month ago, and this information has not changed in the past month. Now, CnEVPost's monitoring has revealed an update to that information.

All of Nio's models have seen a reduction in expected delivery times, with the flagship sedan ET7 seeing its expected delivery time almost halved from what was previously available, the latest information from the Nio App shows.

Nio currently sells six models in China, including three models based on the NT 1.0 platform -- the ES8, ES6 and EC6 -- and three models based on the NT 2.0 platform -- the ES7, ET7 and ET5.

For the two versions of the Nio ES7, consumers will have to wait 12-14 weeks for delivery after locking in their orders, the latest information from the Nio App shows. This is 1 week less than the 13-15 weeks shown when the Nio App first presented this information on September 16.

Both versions of the Nio ET7 now have a wait time of 6-8 weeks, a significant reduction from the previous 11-13 weeks, which seems to indicate that the model may have received a boost in production capacity.

The company began deliveries of the ET7 on March 28 and saw continued growth in deliveries in the following months, reaching 4,349 units by June.

However, in July, ET7 deliveries were reduced to 2,473 units, and Nio said at the time that production of the ET7 and EC6 was limited by the availability of casting parts in July.

This restriction appears to have continued to affect the production of the ET7, with 3,126 and 2,928 units of the model delivered in August and September, respectively.

In the third quarter, lower-than-expected yields of one-piece die-casting parts from partners had some impact on Nio's production, William Li, the company's founder, chairman and CEO, said in a conference call on September 7 after announcing second-quarter earnings.

Nio has sent engineers to work with partners to resolve the issues and has brought in new suppliers. Overall, the issues were initially resolved, he said on the call.

Back to the wait times for Nio vehicles, its app no longer shows the expected delivery date for the ET5 sedan. Previously the wait time for that model was 21-23 weeks.

The ET5 made its first delivery on September 30, and Li said in the September 7 call that Nio is well prepared for ET5 deliveries of more than 10,000 in a single month in December, with a higher internal target.

For the ES8, ES6, and EC6, their latest expected delivery times are all 3-5 weeks, down 1 week from the previous 4-6 weeks.

Nio expects to transition the ES8, ES6, and EC6 to the NT 2.0 platform in 2023, so these three models may not see strong deliveries as we head into the end of the year.

In addition to Nio, CnEVPost is also closely tracking wait times for Tesla models in China, and they are currently unchanged from earlier.
